Story structure packets

Finally, as with each supertask which makes use of packets, the behavior of the story structure comprehension supertask is altered depending on which story structure packets are known and retrieved from long-term memory at reading time. For instance, different genres of text will be related to different story structure packets contained within the reasoning system of the reader. After all, a science fiction story has a different structure than a Western; specific packets exist which guide the reader in precisely what to expect from different genres. The type of narrative will also determine specific processing details through the use of packets--a first-person narrative will be handled in a different fashion than a third-person narrative. For instance, in a first-person narrative, the narrator can be assumed to be the protagonist. This is the case in Men Are Different and leads to one of the anomalies which results in   creative understanding. The protagonist of the first-person narrative turns out to be a robot, but protagonists are known (by the model) to be agents, and robots are known to not be capable of being agents. This contradiction requires a suspension of disbelief in order to allow the creative understanding process to resolve the issue. Finally, specific authors with multiple stories will have packets associated with them. As an   example and as was pointed out previously, Asimov stories never involve time travel.
