Potential inter-sentential processing

Although the sentence processing supertask is primarily concerned with intra-sentential processing, it is possible to pass information into it from the control supertask, if inter-sentential knowledge is needed. For example, again in Lycanthrope, it is impossible to determine, from the first sentence alone, which character the I is referencing. The   anticipation which is generated is passed to the control supertask, which will decide to pass it back to sentence processing on future sentences until this reference is resolved. Similarly, the sentence processing supertask has access to information in other supertasks; for example, the characters discovered by story structure comprehension are available for processing purposes.
