Linux System Administration
SSH - Secure Shell
SSH-Agent
If you want to log on to a remote system, make sure you have a
.ssh
directory in the home directory.
Next, copy the
id_rsa.pub
file on the local system to a file named
~/.ssh/authorized_keys
on the remote system.
If this file already exists, then append this file to
authorized_keys
.
Make sure no one except the owner has permission to read or write to this file.
We can now log in to the remote system using the passphrase we provided earlier.
This isn't really any better, so what can we do?
