Here is the command one would use to install an RPM:
#
rpm -i package-name.rpm
When installing an RPM, the rpm command will consult
the local database to ensure that any dependencies are installed on the
system, and that installing the RPM will not write over any needed
pre-existing files.
These checks can be omitted by adding --nodeps or --replacefiles to the
command when installing.
#
rpm -i --nodeps package-name.rpm
# rpm -i
--replacefiles package-name.rpm
If you want to do both of these commands, you can use
the --force options.
