Similarly logical volumes can be reduced by using the
following command:
# lvreduce -L-1G /dev/lvm-hdb/lvm0
lvreduce -- -Warning: reducing
active logical volume to 2GB
lvreduce- -- This may destroy
your data (filesystem etc.)
lvreduce -- -do you really want
to reduce "/dev/lvm-hdb/lvm0"? [y/n]: y
lvreduce- -- doing automatic
backup of volume group "test_lvm"
lvreduce- -- logical volume "/dev/lvm-hdb/lvm0" successfully reduced
It is very important to remember to reduce the size of
the file system or whatever is residing in the volume before shrinking the volume
itself
