The Boot Process (continued)
/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit
This is the script which is run during the interactive mode of the boot process.
It loads all the basic modules (drivers) and gets the kernel going.
The file is written in a readable format, so it is easy to see the tasks and their order.
/etc/rc.d/rc.local
The final
init
script
If there are other services you want started at boot time, or if you are not sure where they go.
This is linked to S99local in /etc/rc.d/rc2.d (and rc3.d, rc4.d, rc5.d)
